The project also supports situational and critical care needs assessments. With additional funds, RISE and its network, which includes AIIMS facilities in several states and smaller public and private facilities, respond to the urgency and magnitude of the pandemic with high-impact solutions that align with the government’s response across the country. These solutions include strengthening healthcare workforce capacity and resilience, the oxygen ecosystem and building lab capacity. RISE is prioritizing interventions that build a resilient and responsive health system that can handle future emerging infectious disease threats. Key activities under the program will be to improve vaccine coverage by providing technical assistance to a network of intervention facilities, strengthen the oxygen ecosystem within a network of intervention facilities, build the skills of the healthcare workforce within the network of intervention facilities, enhance laboratory capacity and support expansion of COVID-19 testing, and form cross sectoral partnerships with the public, private, and faith-based sectors to enhance COVID-19 healthcare services.
