The Covid-19 pandemic has gravely impacted the ability of vulnerable populations to survive and thrive. Addressing two key pillars of the journey to self-reliance, inclusive development, and building partnerships, the COVID Action Collaborative presents a new model for coordinating efforts to accelerate recovery, resilience, and impact. This collaborative brings together diverse stakeholders and strengthen local efforts to mobilize resources and implement a comprehensive COVID-19 package of health and support services. This effort is expected to mobilize $10 million for COVID-19 programs and potentially reach about 10 million vulnerable populations in prioritized geographies.

To address the needs of the vulnerable communities and to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic and emerging health challenges.
The #COVID Action Collaborative (CAC) drives comprehensive and coordinated action, leading to the prevention of new COVID-19 infections and mitigating the pandemic impact. The Collaborative operates through a technology-enabled platform: www.covidactioncollab.in. The CAC presents a new model for coordinating efforts to accelerate recovery, resilience, impact, scale and sustainability. The project primarily focuses on vulnerable populations as a part of COVID-19 response and supports access to vaccines (registration, appointments, vaccination, reminders etc).
The activities of the collaborative focus on developing strategy papers and finalizing a set of COVID packages - covering both health and social protection - for vulnerable populations. To reach 10 million vulnerable populations, training, developing operational plans and value-added support services for 100 organizations are provided. Systems are set in place for tracking and reporting progress of partnering organizations. The project identifies needs of local governments, develops technical assistance packages, provides value added support services, and reports on progress of the technical assistance provided to local governments. The activities also include developing strategy papers to reach healthcare, informal workers, street vendor and small retailer associations and customized technical assistance package for each of the associated categories. Training and value add support are provided to the associations along with reporting on progress of the technical assistance provided to the associations.
