Government of India's 'Ayushman Bharat' programme, launched in 2018, aims to revive and revamp the primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare systems, with a stronger focus on prevention, health promotion and wellness. The Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWCs) planned under this program are expected to provide Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Services universally. This Compendium highlights the progress of AB-HWCs and the best practices across the country for strengthening the healthcare delivery for a healthier India. The document is meant to facilitate learning and working together towards accessible, available, affordable and quality primary healthcare in India. It can be used as a reference document by state health departments to learn from each other and replicate the practices by suitably customizing them. The document can be accessed here.
