Violence Against Female Health Workers

Violence against women health workers is often a symptom of significant underlying power imbalances that affect women's participation and leadership as well as their safety and well-being. This paper provides a framework to understand the influence of gender power relations, intersectional identities, social norms, and institutional structures on this form of violence. This overview is useful for implementers and decision-makers working with health systems.
