The Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (GLASS), launched in 2015, aims to support the global action plan on antimicrobial resistance. The Toolkit provides a roadmap and lessons from the early implementation of GLASS (2015-2019). Anti Microbial Resistance (AMR) is a serious cause for concern amongst medical professionals. AMR occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time and no longer respond to medicines making infections harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death. The Toolkit can be used by both implementers and health workers. It includes: a factsheet on AMR; a letter of enrolment for nations and a guide to planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation; an IT platform; data collections; and various reports and research findings.
