Early predictions suggested a likely increase in unintended pregnancies globally due to COVID-19 related family planning services disruptions. It is estimated that a 10% decline in the use of short- and long-acting reversible contraceptives will result in 15.4 million additional unintended pregnancies globally (Guttmacher Institute, 2020). This presentation shows the findings from a rapid survey in rural India that was conducted with the aim to generate evidence on the Family Planning situation in the USAID focused states amidst COVID-19, to compare and reflect on the changes in key indicators from NFHS-4, and to ideate, the impact on women and infer the health system response amidst COVID-19.
