Demographic changes and rising health care demands would create 40 million new jobs by 2030 in the global health and social sector. There is a mismatch between health worker supply and demand. Although 70% of women are a part of the health and social care workforce, there are gaps between women and men in terms of the barriers faced by women, that are not faced by their male counterparts. In order to address these gaps and barriers, this report informs the next phase of the Global Health Workforce Network-Gender Equity Hub (GEH) by using research GEH's research findings to strengthen and advocate for gender-transformative policy and action.
