23 Jun 2021
Maternal & Child Health Health System Strengthening

by UNFPA, World Health Organization 50 MIN READ

Building on previous reports in the series. the State of the World’s Midwifery (SoWMy) 2021 represents an unprecedented effort to document the whole world’s Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Adolescent Health (SRMNAH) workforce, with a particular focus on midwives.  It documents the progress and trends since the inaugural 2011 edition and identifies barriers and challenges to future advancement.  The reports suggests that for midwives to achieve their full potential, bold investments are required by governments, policymakers, regulatory authorities, educational institutions, professional associations, international organisations, global partnerships, donor agencies, civil society organisations and researchers are needed at country, regional and global levels. This report will be useful for policy makers.  Click here to read the report.
