India has recorded a declining trend in child stunting from 48 per cent in 2006 to 38 per cent in 2016 - a relative 20 per cent decrease. Despite this impressive progress the level of stunting remains high in India and the disparities between states are very visible. This document makes a case for offering facility based treatment, building capacity of frontline workers, and equity to accelerate provision of nutrition under the Government's NHM.
