Keeping optimum spacing between children in a family is important for the health of both the mother and child. For full recuperation of health from last pregnancy and for maintaining the health of the newborn baby, it is best to wait at least 24 months after a live birth before attempting the next pregnancy. This document shines a light on the various contraception methods by which a couple can delay pregnancies or not have any more children. These are available at government hospitals, health centres, pharmacies, private clinics or with ASHAs. This is a useful document for implementers of family planning programs.
