In this study, the need for typhoid immunisation in India is examined, and the effectiveness, immunogenicity, and cost-effectiveness of the typhoid vaccines that are currently on the market are evaluated. The first typhoid conjugate vaccine Vi-TT was prequalified by the WHO in 2018 and recommended for children aged 6-23 months, coupled with the measles vaccination at 9 or 15 months through the increased immunisation programme. Typhoid vaccination should be explored as soon as possible given the significant endemicity of the disease in India and the conjugate vaccine's shown cost-effectiveness.
