Operationalizing Telemedicine : The Simple App

The India Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI), is a multi-partner initiative of the Government of India. Focused on hypertension treatment protocols, the initiative had developed an effective information system, called ‘Simple’, for monitoring patients. Post COVID-19, the system was upgraded, in accordance with the Government of India Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020, to include telemedicine for delivering services at the community-level . About 336 Healthcare Centers have initiated the use of this app. This article can be used to encourage state and district level government officials to initiate the use of Simple in other HCWs as well.  Click here to read more.
