National Vaccine Wastage Assessment

21 Oct 2021

Given that vaccine wastage has a direct implication on immunization coverage and resource utilization, a  National Vaccine Wastage Assessment was held in 2019 to assess the current vaccine wastage rate, bottlenecks, and to document the improvements and good practices. The assessment brought out various strengths of the immunization program,  identified gaps related to the vaccine wastage and made specific recommendations to strengthen the overall vaccine management practices in India. These have been documented in this report. The recommendations made in this assessment are expected to strengthen the vaccination supply chain in India. This is a useful report for policy makers.  Click here to read the report.
