Married adolescent girls are vulnerable to risky sexual and reproductive health outcomes. This study concludes that in-laws’ pressure on fertility is common, which also affects couple communication about family size. It may be more likely for those yet to have a child, but may have little effect on impeding contraceptive use in a context where such use is not normative. The study also makes suggestions for interventions to be included in government programs such as Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH). It could be useful for family planning program implementers. Click here to read the study.
