In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, a large percentage of the vulnerable population faced challenges with access to benefits under food and nutrition programs. This note presents nine lessons from nutrition projects that supported interventions in crisis situations between 2009 and 2019. The note is aimed at informing responses to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. The projects studied included those responding to natural disasters (floods, droughts, cyclones, and so on), epidemics (Ebola, Avian influenza), human disasters (such as fragility and conflict situations), and crises such as the global food and financial crisis. These findings can be applied by implementers to strengthen their programs and outcomes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to read the note.
