With India having missed the MCH related millennium development goals, these outcomes remain a matter of concern for the country to achieve the goals set under SDGs. This study is focused on assessing the gap in coverage and inequality of various reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health (RMNCH) indicators in 640 districts of India, using data from the most recent round of National Family Health Survey. Evidence from the study suggests that many districts in India are lagging in terms of CGI and need to be prioritized to achieve the desired level of MCH outcomes. Efforts are needed to reduce the CGI among the poorest and rural resident which may curtail inequality. It is a useful resource for policy makers. Click here to read the study.
