India’s RMNCH+A Strategy has been a historical milestone in the country’s healthcare planning. The strategy succeeded in establishing an institutional framework and a mechanism of facility-level, need-based planning through concerted and coordinated efforts. This study documents both the limitations and learnings gained from the strategy. It also highlights that despite improvements and mechanisms established, gaps in design and subsequent implementation make it difficult to gauge the strategy's impact, thereby limiting translation of learnings into long-term policy and planning. The study could provide policymakers some insights into areas of focus. Click here to access the study.
