Despite major improvements in recent years, life expectancy in India remains low when compared to countries at a similar level of development. India’s secluded regions have seen challenges in healthcare, lack of health financing and policies as well as limited access to finance for healthcare services and limited health insurance cover. This review based paper, discusses the framework of a country wide community healthcare financing for reducing social exclusion from healthcare facilities and also how healthcare benefits can be reaped by underprivileged sections of the society. It can be used by policy makers to understand gaps in the healthcare systems in India’s remote corners.
