Adolescents and youth need the scope to influence present and future access to health, education, and protection that they receive. They also require formal channels to effectively participate in social, civic, and economic life. This is especially true for vulnerable groups of the adolescent and youth demographic as they may often feel disenfranchised. This Toolkit by No Lost Generation is designed to provide implementers with tools to support young people’s participation and engagement in the Middle East and North Africa, and may also be adapted to India. The design of the Toolkit draws on the theory of change, Positive Adolescent Development, and the Social Justice Development approach. In particular, it provides guidance on 1. Integrating systematic adolescent and youth engagement in the programming cycle for all sector responses; 2. Strengthening adolescent- and youth-led civic, social, and economic engagement to empower young people in influencing decision-making at community and local levels.
