The prevalence of antiretroviral therapy (ART) has considerably reduced the occurrence of TB in People Living with HIV (PLHIV). However, since TB is a highly infectious disease, the incidence of TB amongst PLHIV remains high. India has the third-highest HIV burden and almost 1 million annual TB incidence amongst PLHIV. This article documents a retrospective cohort study using programmatic data from one of India’s largest public-sector ART delivery programs in Pune, Maharashtra. It aims to estimate the incidence rate and risk factors of TB among HIV-infected adults who receive first- and second-line ART. This paper is relevant for government health departments and health officials involved in PLHIV TB care and management.
