Improving health of adolescents, that account for 20% of India's population, is a key component of India's National Health Mission. This study aims to document the effectiveness of adolescent health and knowledge change interventions on risks facing adolescents. The study revealed that there is increased awareness regarding anemia, STD and HIV/AIDS, reduced addiction to tobacco, improved practices during menstrual hygiene and engagement with adolescent services/schemes in the intervention site. In addition, some improvements were also seen in non-intervention site. The improvement in adolescent health thus can not be totally attributed to the interventions. Policy makers could build on this research to develop a robust evidence on improving health of adolescents in India. Click here to access the study.
