This brief collects and analyses current evidence of the impact of COVID-19 on health and well-being of children (5-9 years) and adolescents (10-19) in India. It draws data from peer-reviewed studies, reports and government articles published between January 2020 and February 2021. The brief finds that not only are children and adolescents highly vulnerable to the impacts of the pandemic, but that these ramifications are manifold and require immediate attention. The analysis highlights disproportionately greater vulnerability of girls in the areas of education, domestic violence, child marriage, domestic workload, and mental health. These insights can help guide program implementers in designing appropriate programs. Click here to read the brief.
