The Community-Based Family Planning (CBFP) approach brings family planning information and methods to women and men in the communities where they live rather than requiring them to visit health facilities. This CBFP Toolkit is designed to facilitate this process. It contains comprehensive tools for strengthening the capacity of agencies and organizations to plan, implement, evaluate, and promote Family Planning services or scale-up existing CBFP programs. The Toolkit outlines the use of one or more approaches including the provision of services by community health workers (CHWs), mobile outreach services, drug store services, and private sector services. The Toolkit can support the implementation of the CBFP approaches from advocacy, program design, and management to training, monitoring & evaluation, and behavior change communication. It also includes case studies from different countries to augment learning. The Toolkit is accompanied by a Global Health eLearning Course that provides further information on how to use the tools optimally.
