India has made significant progress in improving health outcomes over the last two decades. Going forward, the country's vision for health is to transform health services delivery in a way that health outcomes improve at a much greater pace, without financially burdening the country's citizens. In this context, consultations were initiated as a part of the Development Dialogues series, with a workshop titled Health Systems for a New India: Building Blocks. The discussions revolved around key themes of health system financing and provisioning with a focus on risk pooling, strategic purchasing, health service provisioning and digital health. This publication documents the findings of these discussions and presents a preliminary menu of strategic choices available for India to steer its health system. It can help implementers take informed and evidence-based decisions for health system transformation. Click here to access the resource.
