WHO and its Partner Institutions within the Immunization Financing and Sustainable Task Team developed a methodological framework to assess financial sustainability of immunization programs in various countries. The framework aims to gather and analyze specific information concerning the situation for countries facing financial and programmatic difficulties to strengthen their immunization systems and to outline prospects for financing their immunization programs, including vaccines, operational costs and GAVI co-financing requirements. The framework has been applied in several countries and can be adapted to specific country context and needs. The framework can be used by policy makers while assessing the sustainability of immunization programs.
