08 Jul 2021
Maternal & Child Health

by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare 15 MIN READ

In India, with the second largest global population, the growing COVID-19 pandemic requires special efforts to ensure continuation of essential routine RMNCAH+N services. It is important to ensure availability of RMNCAH+N services during the pandemic as any denial of such services could lead to an impact on maternal and newborn mortalities, morbidities as well as the healthcare costs. MoHFW released the guidelines on "Enabling Delivery of Essential Health Services during the COVID 19 Outbreak". The guidelines elaborate various RMNCAH+N services to be provided at different levels in accordance with zonal categorization of Containment Zones and Buffer Zones and beyond these zones. They also mention health system approaches for delivery of these essential services including facility mapping and planning, alternate service delivery mechanisms. These guidelines will be useful for RMNCAH+N program implementers.  Click here to read more.
