COVID-19 led to an unprecedented state of emergency across the world. In India, roughly 7.14 crore self-help group (SHG) members, working through 66 lakh SHGs, were roped in to support the frontline response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This compendium documents the efforts of these women in fighting COVID-19, including region-specific anecdotes on meeting the high demand for masks, sanitizers, and other protective gear; Ensuring food security and continuity of essential services such as banking; Providing care to poor, migrant, and disabled individuals; and providing information through innovative localized forms of outreach.
