When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, health systems across the world were focused on controlling the pandemic, leading to a disruption in management of other diseases such as HIV and TB. This report highlights the extraordinary challenges faced in 2020 in the fight against HIV, TB and malaria while responding to a new pandemic. The Report of the Global Fund also provides evidence that despite the headwinds due to COVID-19, the fight against HIV, TB and malaria continued to bring positive results. It makes a case for continuing to invest in the fight against these pre-existing diseases even as the world responds to the new pandemic. It emphasizes the need for continuous innovation and collaboration at global, national and local levels to end HIV, TB and malaria, beat COVID-19 and build a much stronger foundation for pandemic preparedness and response. This report will be useful for policy makers. Click here to read the report.
