COVID-19 - Are Routine Vaccinations at Risk of Decline

Disruptions in delivery and uptake of immunization services, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, are threatening to lead to a decline in RI services in several parts of the world.  This is the first time in 28 years that the world is likely to experience a reduction in DTP3 coverage – the marker for immunization coverage within and across countries.  In this situation. UNICEF and WHO are supporting countries in their immunization efforts . India also stands a chance to lose the hardwon immunization progress to COVID-19 related disruptions. This article can be used by policy makers to re-imagine their immunization programs.  Click here to read the article.
