The Ayushman Bharat Program and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) were launched by the Government of India in 2018 as a path towards Universal Health Coverage. The Health and Wellness Centers aim to include preventive and rehabilitative care along with wellness to shift India's health perspective from curative to preventive care. Launched in 2018, the program aims to establish 1,50,000 Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centers (AB-HWCs) by 2022. This document summarises the progress of the establishment of AB-HWCs in every state. It is an important reference for state Health Offices, program implementors, and social sector organizations to scale and establish AB-HWCs in other regions.
