How can primary healthcare be more sustainable and accessible for all? The WHO defines Primary healthcare as a whole-of-society approach to health and well-being centered on the needs and preferences of individuals, families, and communities. According to this report by PAHAL, a joint initiative of IPE Global and USAID, private healthcare models could very well be the answer. The research lays emphasis on the essentials of a robust primary healthcare system and five focus areas for private primary care models. It also studies the existing models and their various facets in India and other mid- to low-income countries. This report can inform health policy, primary care program design, and implementation.
