Adolescents constitute one-fifth of India's population, yet they often do not receive the nutrition, healthcare, and enabling environments that allow them to reach their full potential. The flagship government program on adolescent health, the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK), focuses its efforts on six domains that contribute to the greatest burden of morbidity and mortality among adolescents: nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, non-communicable diseases, injuries and violence, substance abuse, and mental health.
This guidance document can be used by investors, donors, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems designers, and implementation agencies working on adolescent health, to support better design and monitoring of programs.
